Fight The Pain

I was in a bit of disgruntled mood today, for whateve reason. So i decided to sit down and write a song. Just let out whatever was on my heart. I just wrote it a few hours ago, so far i've written the music for the first verse. It sounds good. It's tentatively titled " Fight The Pain" and im sure i'll make some modifications as i write the rest of the music for it.

Do you ever feel like running away from everything that you’ve ever known?
Turning your back on everyone that has ever cared for you?
Because sometimes it feels like it’s easier to just duck and hide
To choose to ignore your regrets and all the mistakes that you cannot forgive

When all is said and done the ones who choose to run are the ones who DIE IN VAIN
And those who stand and FIGHT THE PAIN, the ones willing to RE-ARRANGE
Are the ones who will be set FREE

From this life of captivity that so many of us lead
Left in the dark without a hope
The burdens of so many years are weighing on our hearts and minds
And the longer we push it away, the tighter the noose becomes around our necks

So stand up and FIGHT THE PAIN
Believe in what’s inside your heart
Even if it’s so bound up it’s BARELY BEATING

Because if you aren’t reaching for the truth, you may as well lay down and waste away
Just swallow your pride and FIGHT THE PAIN

i liked it.
i like how it starts out angsty
and turns into everything that isn't.
it goes from a feeling sorry for yourself sort of vibe,
into a stronger feeling.
it's a good way to get the point across.
good job.

noelle - thanks for the feedback, thats sort of what i was trying to do, i think its really effective when the song progresses like that.

Court - I'm glad you "needed" to hear that, maybe thats why i felt compelled to write it and then post it. If i wrote things people wanted to hear i think my writing would be relatively meaningless. I find it interesting to look at my relationship with humanity, or anyones for that matter, it can give you a good idea of what drives a person. Ohh yeah and .. i like ticking you off, i like ticking alot of people off, especially you, but not to seriously.

hey.. this could totally be a song i could see one of the bands we like performing. it's definitely good. it's funny, because i think everyone can relate themselves to it.. at some point in their life. i've learnt a lot from you saying that.. because a year ago, i wouldnt have probably thought about it.

I'm not sure if you have a band or not, but those lyrics are really good. I would stand up front and scream along to that song. Nice job.
