Set It Straight is a band i couldn't get into, the vocals seemed constrained and the music was mediocore. They released a new album recently, i was a little hesitant to check it out, but i did and i was really impressed. The whole Northern California scene has been producing some great bands lately. Like Allegiance and Killing The Dream, whose vocalists both make guest appearances on this record. www.myspace.com/setitstraight

Go It Alone is great, their lyrics and music stand out from the general youthcrew theme,
Shook Ones delivered a good record though the production lacks a bit off energy and the songwriting isn't yet as good as that of Kid Dynamite and Lifetime
Set It Straight is a band I can't get into, I have this 'fake' idea with the band. Like they don't really put their hearts, guts and balls in the songs.
Go It Alone are definately amazing. i know what you mean about the production on the new Shook Ones, it isnt as good as it was on "Sixteen." With Set It Straight, i think its the vocals that give the impression that there is something missing, the vocalist deosnt sound like he's putting his all into it. but i'm really digging a few songs on their new record, its a solid progression from their first LP.
